Re: Megiddo
Lara nods her head and a small flame appears in her palm. She wasn't ready for this. She wasn't ready to say goodbye, to never see her brother again. But here she was, about to let go of her only family. Another horrifying thought, the idea of being alone, causes her to shudder. She closes her eyes and sends a blast of flame toward Jekin. Soon his corpse is engulfed in flames and begins to burn. She stares at the fire for a moment, thousands of thoughts flooding her brain. She reaches for her gun and finds that it's gone. She frowns, she must of lost them when she was in the shrine. Unable to look anymore, she rushes to the hummer and sits in the back. Lara curls up into a ball and hugs her knees. "...That's...that's all I can do."
__ Gale ponders this. He knew that his foes would know his destination before long. However, it'd take them quite a while to get there, which was his advantage. The way he saw it, he needed no help from this man. He was strong enough on his own. ....Wait. What did he just say? Suddenly a torrent of memories that he had burried in the past three months returned to him, memories of Laena. She had told him he was not strong enough... It was one of the few memories of Laena that weren't pleasant. However, it was constructive criticism(sp?) and thus he would follow it. Once again oppressing his emotions, he turns to the stranger. "Very well. I shall assist you if you assist me. I have little time to spend, so use it wisely." Gale sheathes Sin, and awaits his new "partner's" (and Gale used the term loosely) response. |

Re: Megiddo
One stares into the flames, he didn't notice Lara get up. He turned his head looking for her, and saw her sitting in the car. "I-I assume that she's going. . . . " He looks at Havok. "So you don't have to lead the way. . . I will." Without another word, he gets into the drivers seat of the Hummer, and waits for everybody else to get in.

Re: Megiddo
Riki watches a bird fly over a tree outside and feels a great envy for the animal. That bird would never know that it's life hung in the balance. That the meal it sought might be in vain, might be a pointless waste of life. That bird was free, free from the stress, the death of friends, free from the grief and the pain and the war. Ignorance is bliss.

Re: Megiddo
Wessen, after watching the sad goodbye of Lara an Jekin, limps over to his Tandem and dings into his med kid to bandage up his leg. As soon as it is tightly wrapped, he injects himself with a a syringe which sends a burning liquid into his veins. In a few moments his wound no longer hurts and the muscles around it relax.
By this time, the effects of the venom seem to have more-or-less faded and he tries speech once again. Tiredly, he hopens his mouth. I might be a little slow on my legs for the next couple of days, but I should be okay. The fang made a very clean cut.. It's somewhat creepy. In any case, I've got my heart set on going with y'all. ..that is if humans are allowed amongst you heavenly denizens. Determined to put a crack in the mood, Wes turns to Hallon. Nice snake. He bit me, ya know. Right here. He points to his wounded leg. |
Re: Megiddo
Hallon smiles nervously. "Yes, seems he was placed there first. The Shrine wasn't for the Key originally. I managed to seal the damnable beast to a degree, but I'm glad its dead now. Oh, and sorry about your leg, with that warlock I didn't know who was freind or foe."
__ Gale pulls a map out of his vest and hands it to Kadino. Otherwise he remains silent. |
Re: Megiddo
One is getting increasingly annoyed by the people that still haven't gotten into the car. He honks the horn on the Hummer. "Are you guys coming or not?!"
|
Re: Megiddo
No sweat. Tis only flesh.
Wes swings his leg over the top of his Tandem and nestles himself upon the seat. I'm set. |
Re: Megiddo
Hallon slowly takes a seat in the hummer, still not sure what to think of it.
|
Re: Megiddo
One makes one last check and see everyone is ready to go. He opens the glove compartment and takes out the keys, where Jekin left them. He sticks them in the ignition and turns it. The car turns on. One presses the gas and they start moving. "To Capital. . . "
|
Re: Megiddo
*Kadino waves his hand over the page, and drops a thumbleful of grainy powder on the map*
"Alright... much better. Now I can see on the map where I am, where you are. As soon as I can concentrate enough... I, should be able to find my friend" *Visually slumps at a quick scan of the sky* "It is growing late. Do you wish to sleep tonight? I do not like being about with company on nights where there is no moon." |
Re: Megiddo
Chapter Four: Rule of Roadtrips, Don't Pick Up Dangerous Hitchhikers
"I have no need for sleep now." Gale scans around and cracks his knuckles. __ Lara looks out the window and sighs while Hallon marvels over the jeep. "Well...this is...very fast...very very fast." |
Re: Megiddo
Ayn opens the door, having a seat next to Lara. She shifts uncomfortably, looking down at her shoes. She doesn't say anything, but instead examines this strange new sword she'd received from the moogle.
|
Re: Megiddo
The second Humvee pulls up to the left of One's and stays nearby as they continue on. Inside the driver seat, Fury sits half-slouched with one hand on the wheel, staring ahead with blank determination. There was no way to know if it really made any difference, but he had been late nonetheless and a man was down. His knuckles went white around the wheel. "This time, Gale..." He reaches over and leans Ranna into his shoulder.
|
Re: Megiddo
Lara curls up into a ball and tries to sleep. Her casual, cool look was now gone. She looked like a child who just got lost from her parents. She tried to hide it, but it was more noticable at this range.
|
Re: Megiddo
Ayn leans back, trying to get comfortable. The thick tense air in the Hummer tightens up her muscles, and she finds it difficult to make eye contact with anybody.
|
Re: Megiddo
Lara finds that she's unable to sleep, even with the growing darkness. Not surprising, nothing was going for her today. She looked at Ayn and noticed her new sword. In an attempt to take her mind of her pain she inquires about it. "...How'd you get that? ...."
|
Re: Megiddo
She jumps slightly at the sudden voice. She blinks for a few seconds, then glances at Lara. "Well.. I'm not really sure how I got it exactly, but I think it has something to do with a serpent that was.." She pauses, considering her wording. "Well.. It's not important, really.. I lost my old sword, and by a strange turn of events I wound up with this one."
|
Re: Megiddo
Lara nods, but seems distant. "Oh..I see. By the way..have you seen my gun? It seems I lost it.."
|
Re: Megiddo
She shakes her head. "No.. I haven't seen it.." She grows silent, wanting to say more but was unable to find words.
|
Re: Megiddo
"Oh...I suppose I'll have to find another weapon then." She curls up into a ball again and yawns quietly.
|
Re: Megiddo
"Well then, you would be advised to follow me at a great distance. When the sun sets you should not try to converse with me. Do not attempt to do anything but follow me, or one of us may die. When the sun sets I will be overcome by my magic, much as a werewolf becomes."
*Kadino simply walks into the woods with a defiant scowl* "It is setting! Quick, do not lose sight of me!" *Kadino focuses on his ring again, and all of his weaponry and garment dissapear* I hope we may not meet tonight Joesparant the Lupine for I wish for BLOOD! |
Re: Megiddo
Ayn frowns. Considering the situation, she wasn't entirely sure if she trusted Lara with a weapon at all. But maybe she was just misjudging.. She was putting herself in Lara's shoes, so to speak.
|
Re: Megiddo
Lara leans against the window and tries to sleep, seeing no reason to stay up.
__ Gale keeps his distance from Kadino. He knew he was powerful, but would not seek a needless battle. He followed the Moogle, careful to remain behind as much as possible. |
Re: Megiddo
Ayn sighs, then rests her head on the back of the seat. She closes her eyes and waits for sleep to come, to just be enveloped in darkness and forget about everything, even if for only a few minutes. After a while she dozes slightly.
|
Re: Megiddo
*Kadino sprints across the ground. An eagerness for truth becoming eagerness for death. His body becoming convoluted, growing skeletal and harsh. Smooth fur bristles, and cute wings turn nightmarish--both turning blackish. Pain turns to anger, and a beast now tears along wooded ground.*

Re: Megiddo
Riki sighs and looks up at Rikali, who flies over the Hummer. She shifts in her seat. The soft cushion was more comfortable and preferrable then dragonback anyway. She takes this oppurtunity to inspect Vengeance. The sword's blade had a few barely dectable chips from where she hacked at the stone serpent. Riki didn't worry about them. The so-called brother sword to Sin had remarkable powers. It would repair itself. She lovingly wraps her hand around the pommel. Blessed sword...so much more to Riki then a weapon. Salvation. Cure. Vengeance. Of all the names she could have chosen, Vengeance suited the weapon the best. Vengeance against Gale...
She grips the sword and smiles grimly. With such a thing in her hand, she felt confident. If Gale could not be stopped, maybe he could be...tampered. Unable to reach his goal, held back with chains of rightousness. "When will we get there?" |
Re: Megiddo
One looks in the rear view mirror to Riki. "We still have a long time. I suggest you get your rest in now." He eyes her weapon. "And put that sword away, why don't you?"
|
Re: Megiddo
((I apologize for the relatively slow week. I hope to see more of you guys this weekend when more can be done. ^^ I also warn you, this post is a bit on the disturbing side, so bare with me aight? You're all big kids :P))
"Little child, looking so brave...Come out and play...." He flexed his claw like hands, dark red covered his fingers which he lapped up as he sang in the dark of night. "I'll be your daddy..." [i]He glanced up and saw the distance light of on-coming traffic. This wasn't a highway, he knew exactly what was coming. He finished licking the blood of his hands and cracked his knucles. "Innocent child, looking so sweet. I'll rape your mind and of your flesh I'll eat." Legion's lips curled into a grin. "I haven't seen you in a looooooooong time goldielocks. I'm going to enjoy playing with you and your friends." (Song: Daddy by Korn (I think that's right)) __ Hallon looks around as if he had just been startled. He becomes calm, but seems worried. "I sense something wicked......" __ Gale began to wonder how wise it was to follow this Moogle. He is careful not to make any hasty movements. He did not doubt his abilities, but he didn't like facing powers he did not understand. He ended up injured that way, which was something he couldn't afford now. ((What? You thought that a thread with Ayn WOULDN'T have Legion? XP I realize Legion is in red, but he's special here or something. In the next posts he'll be back to 'normal')) |
Re: Megiddo
One scans the landscape, he doesn't see anything. "Hallon, so you're not a normal human are you? What do you sense and how are you so sure it's there?"
|
Re: Megiddo
Hallon shakes his head. "Nay, I'm a mortal man. However, I know when there's something wicked in the air. I insist we take a diffrent route."
|
Re: Megiddo
One once again scans the landscape. There is not an intersection for miles, and they are surrounded by woods on both sides of the road. "There is no other route. And if we were to find another way, it would probably take longer than the route we're already on. So sorry, we're not going anywhere."
|
Re: Megiddo
Hallon sighs loudly. "I am not mistaken, something far more dark and wicked then that warlock is near..."
A snarl is heard from the back seat. Lara looks up, rather pissed off. "Shut up and let me sleep!" |
Re: Megiddo
Lara's voice doesn't stir Ayn, as she's finally found a bit of sleep. However, a lingering smell dances across her nostrils, and even though she recognized the scent and it was rather unpleasant, she remained unaroused.

Re: Megiddo
Day has turned to night on their journey to their next stop. About this time Wessen was starting to wish he was in the humvee rather than soloing it on his Tandem. He was growing drowsy.. not a good thing on speeding bike. Wessen begins to speed up and go around the front of the hummer to take a look on all sides. He told himself he kept doing so in order to keep an eye out for trouble.. but really it was to keep himself from being bored, or in this case, from falling asleep.
Stay gold, Wes. I don't want your tombstone to tell of your epic end crashing into a tree. Slade continues to ponder the issue at hand. Gale had obtained the Key to Satan's realm, and it seemed likely that he would soon obtain the key to Heaven. Slade was certainly not well-educated on the matter, but he still had his speculations. He assumed that the reason Gale hadn't already acted was that he wanted, not only to destroy this universe by mixing it with hell, but that he wanted also to ruin heaven in the same way... to make it one big contiguous soup. But he also wondered, would God allow that? As is usually the difference between the foolish and the wise, God seems to be always silent even while the darker forces are making a ruckus. But if the conflict is brought to His very doorstep would he not be compelled to act? And if that is a possibility what gives Gale such assurance that he won't be ended by the Almighty in an instant. Perhaps the Abbis knew something Wessen did not. Or perhaps he was counting on his own distruction.. Hmm... mad men do have strange notions, after all. Wes continues to ride and maneuver around the group's and Fury Three's hummers. When he is near the front of the formation he sees something up ahead. He flicks on his extra-high beam to see ahead. There stands a figure of a man.. and the distance between the group and the figure rapidly closes. |
Re: Megiddo
*The night burns on as the two continue thier way out of the more wild lands and into the downs. A decrepit fog covers the lowground and billows with their passage*
|
Re: Megiddo
Legion seems to evaporate in the light from the vehicles, acting as if he was never there at all. However, an eerie chill seems to spread through the air afterward.
__ Hallon shifts uncomfortably. He didn't like this at all... __ Gale almost asks how long they had to go, but remembers his companions state. He seems rather annoyed about the whole ordeal, but doesn't protest. He could still make it to Capital before his foes did. |
Re: Megiddo
*The night is simply silent now, nothing can be heard but two pairs of footsteps, turning into one as Kadino takes flight. The mists deepen around Gale*
|
Re: Megiddo
Ayn shivers, and cracks open an eye. "..Turn the AC off, will ya?"
|
Re: Megiddo
Lara tries to find some blanket or something she could use for warmth, and mutters a curse when she fails. "She's right...it's damn cold..."
__ Hallon shrugs. "I'm not sure how this machine works..." __ Gale pauses when he no longer hears Kadino. With a mutter of curses he rises into the air. "I'll lose him at this rate.." |
